An infrared IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) beacon is placed on the side of the lamp; invisible to the naked eye, it allows its position to be signaled to friendly forces equipped with night vision devices.

Intelligent function: as soon as the IFF beacon is activated, the visible light from the lamp is automatically switched off.
